Natale Emilio Baldaccini, Head of the Scientific Technical Committee

 

 

 

He is a retired full Professor of Ethology and Conservation of Zoocenotic Resources of the University of Pisa, a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Zoological Union,  the President of the competent “Fauna Commission”, the president of the Scientific Council of the Apuan Regional Natural Park., and a member of the scientific council of the Maremma Park. He is the author of over 200 scientific articles published in international and national journals. He is currently carrying out scientific dissemination activities. Marcella Camici, Treasurer

She is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Biology of the University of Pisa for which she holds courses in Biochemistry for Biological Sciences and Natural Sciences. She is the author of 85 articles published in international journals, 130 communications, and 20 proceedings of national and international Congresses and is a member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Besides being an environmental hiking guide, she works in the field of naturalistic dissemination, interpretation, and education for the environment and sustainability. Since 2000 she has been involved in the design and management of the didactic and environmental education activities of the CEAS – Environmental and Sustainability Education Center – AMP (Marine Protected Area) Capo Carbonara, as a member of the Diomedea cooperative, on behalf of which she designs projects focused on knowledge of the environment and didactic and environmental education activities, aimed at schools and other organizations. She participated in the design and implementation of the dissemination and teaching materials of the CEAS AMP Capo Carbonara. She is interested in collaborating and “networking” with those who share her passion and respect for the environment.

 

Federica Diana, Founding member

A graduate in Natural Sciences at the Marino address at the University of Sassari she is currently a provincial delegate of Lipu, Italian League for Bird Protection. Her interests include environmental education, scientific dissemination, and biodiversity protection. She participated in the scientific Bird ringing course on the island of Asinara and took part in the conference on the intensive exploitation of resources held in Kusadasy (Turkey, 2015). At present, she is carrying out studies on the distribution of the spongofuna of Sardinia.

Elena Falchi, Secretary

She graduated in Political Science from the University of Sassari, and works as a bank employee. She has always been highly interested in the relationship between the natural environment and man and is also a member of the Sassari Association of Philosophy and Science that promotes the dialogue between philosophical and scientific knowledge.

 

 

Anna Lacci, President

She is a freelancer. She has directed the Daphne Studio and worked as a project manager, consultant, trainer. Being an expert in environmental education, sustainable development, environmental communication, territory education, ecological reconversion, she organizes events, sets up exhibitions and educational spaces. She is the author of documentaries, interdisciplinary teaching books and manuals, and various multimedia dissemination materials. She has participated as a speaker at national and international conferences and symposia. After being a member of the UNESCO Italian Commission for the DESS, she is now in the National Committee for Education for Sustainability (CNES AGENDA 2030). She loves cats and books madly. And she loves travelling around the world.

 

Maria Beatrice Lupi, Member of the Board of Directors Chief Website Editor

A naturalist by passion and education, she studied Natural Sciences at the University of Pisa. From 2001 to 2011 she was the legal representative and project manager of Laguna srl, services for sustainable development. As an expert in training, participatory methodologies, European design, and planning for sustainable development, she collaborates with public bodies and training organizations to carry out complex projects that generate synergistic networks with other experts with recognized experience and expertise. She has been a speaker and moderator in local and national events and is currently involved in territorial and social valorization.

 

Carlo Milia, Member of the Board

He graduated in Biological Sciences and has worked as a scientific trainer and popularizer; he has been a teacher of Food Science and, for over 20 years, has been involved in projects, campaigns, and events for the enhancement of the territory and sustainable development.

 

 

 

Fabrizio Piredda, Member of the Board, Communication Manager

He graduated in Graphics at the IED with a cross-media thesis on the material culture of rural areas and specialized in digital printing. Since 1992 he has integrated online and offline communication in the regional and national sphere. Since 2009 he has been a freelance consultant and art director and has collaborated in numerous events and publications in the field of environmental communication, including the Handbook of Energy Survival (Manuale di Sopravvivenza Energetica) written for Scienza Express by Andrea Mameli, with whom he supervises the cycle of teaching conferences on the ethics of persuasive communication: Autopsy of advertising (Autopsia della pubblicità).

Lina Podda, Member of the Board, Head of the Delegation of Cagliari and South Sardinia

Graduated in Natural Sciences and European PhD in Environmental and Applied Botany, she is a research fellow at the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences of the University of Cagliari. Since 2003 she has been collaborating with the Biodiversity Conservation Center (CCB), taking part in several research projects on in situ and ex situ conservation and specifically dealing with the study of invasive alien plants. As a founder member of the Diomedea Cooperative, since 1999 she has been involved in dissemination and environmental education, collaborating with the “Area Marina Protetta” of Capo Carbonara in the management of the educational services of the CEAS and with the teaching staff of the Botanical Garden of Cagliari.

 

Maria Antonietta Sessa, Member of the Scientific Technical Committee, Webmaster, Responsible for website and Facebook page

A former teacher of English language and literature with the hobby of web development and video editing, she has launched and coordinated several European and international projects. Her ten-year experience in the Comenius program has allowed her to innovate her teaching methodology through comparison with other cutting-edge European schools. She has coordinated several projects for the ASEF Classroom Network program, an international organization fostering friendship and collaboration between Asian and European schools; from 2011 to 2014 her projects were awarded two Merit Awards and one Gold Award. She is currently engaged in applying Augmented Reality technology to teaching practice.

 

Francesco Sgarrella, Member of the Board, Membership manager

Graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Pisa, he is a Full Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Sassari. He is a member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the co-author of numerous scientific publications. His main interest in research is the study of how to regulate the use of nucleic acids as a source of energy. He is passionate about nature and archeology. He loves birdwatching and excursions, better if carried out in places that are relevant from a naturalistic and archaeological point of view.

 

Irene Testoni, Vice-president, Front office, documentary and video editing manager

She is a consultant on relationship and feline ethology, a SIUA Referee  (School of Animal-Animal Interaction) for Feline Relationship Advice, an operator of Didactic and Refereeing Zooantropologia SIUA for Didactic Zooanthropology, the founder and President of the Association of zooanthropology “ZOETICAMENTE”. She deals with behaviour, rehabilitation, and education of the cat, of the heterospecific relationship between the human animal and the non-human animal, of ethology, of the ethics of the relationship between man and natural environment. She collaborates with the LIPU (Italian League for Bird Protection) section of Sassari, of which she is a member. She integrates her multidisciplinary training and her passion for the natural sciences with the study of Letters and Philosophy at the University of Sassari.
